The annual Monday night performance
of the Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra,
¡°Fragrance of Traditional Music¡±, takes place
at Ilhwadang Hall of Samcheonggak. Starting from
the second Monday of April, the 12th day of the
month, the event plans to give ten performances
in total with a different program on every Monday
until June 21.
This year¡¯s event consists of concerts from some
of the most popular traditional instruments such
as Gayageum (twelve-stringed instrument), Geomungo
(six-stringed instrument), Daegeum (large bamboo
flute), Haegeum (two-stringed instrument), Piri
(small bamboo flute) and Ajaeng (seven-stringed
instrument). Focused on providing traditional
tunes with modern sensibility, it also introduces
a new work for each night composed by ten different
composers. |
