Located inside a natural forest
of Bugaksan Mountain, Samcheonggak has been a popular
venue for special events and meetings, including Korean
traditional wedding ceremonies. Unlike the wedding
halls at a downtown area where everything should go
in an unreasonable speed, and often in an awkward
environment, Samcheonggak offers a perfect venue for
a Korean traditional wedding ceremony with its noble
age-old pine trees and graceful hanok, traditional
tile-roofed houses of Korea. A
wedding ceremony takes place at the main courtyard
of Samcheonggak in which a large traditional thatch
mat is laid with a ¡®ceremony table¡¯ standing at its
center. Brides and grooms are offered Korean wedding
costumes with headdresses as well as professional
help from the Samcheonggak staff during the ceremony,
including one concerning the use of wedding objects
such as a wooden duck, a symbol of fidelity and love.
Since its service launched in last May, it has been
enthusiastically received by brides and grooms from
overseas as ¡°a great experience to better understand
Korean culture and life.¡± Each
Korean wedding ceremony at Samcheonggak takes place
after a careful preparation by Samcheonggak in association
with Yejiwon, an institution established to help foreigners
better know Korean etiquette and traditional life
style. The event provides both bride and groom with
an unforgettable memory about the moment they receive
a precious lifelong companion. We
welcome anyone who wants to make a solemn pledge to
his or her consort in a most graceful way in an open
environment surrounded by beautiful natural scenes.
